Oversimplified Example: Understanding Weight Distribution in Bags

This is a simplified experiment for the beginner and to get you started on the series set.

What you’re testing

How weight naturally redistributes inside a bag depending on placement and movement.

Materials

  • Backpack or work bag
  • Laptop or heavy book
  • Charger / small items
  • Bottle

Method

  1. Place a heavy item (laptop/book) in different positions
  2. Add smaller items around it
  3. Walk around for a few minutes
  4. Notice shifting and pressure points

What you will see

  • One shoulder becomes more loaded
  • Items shift into lower stable positions
  • Balance changes with movement

Why it works (simple explanation)

Systems under motion naturally settle into the lowest-energy stable configurations.
